About this Painting
Horizon Shift was painted in series with Submerged in a Deep Sea, Sulphur Night and Submerged in a Deep Sea. Horizon Shift is about the start of the day and this clear light rises over the horizon as it shift from dawn to morning.
Painted in an abstract landscape style using layers of acrylic over colourful underpainting and deep shadow. Horizon Shift is full of light, shifting the darkness and dimness of dawn. The colours and textures are representative of the light over a deep sea. This is achieved with texture, mark making and layering.
