Mornington Peninsula’s premier art show, Art Red Hill, was founded in 1981, This year marks its 39th year of continuous operation.
What an event! Artists and visitors from all over Australia are represented here for one extended weekend in May every year. If you missed it this year, you will have to mark it on your calendar for next year. Follow these links to get it into your diary. http://www.artredhill.redhillcs.vic.edu.au
Whether you are an artist or an art lover, there is something here for you. Each year you will see paintings, drawings, sculptures, photographs, ceramics, glassware, jewellery and textiles from artists across Australia and particularly local talent.
Opening Night was Friday 4th May this year, and what a night for it! The cool air as we walked down the drive was filled with the smoke of the burning brassiers, filling us with anticipation of what we’d see. I’ve captured a few images from the Art Red Hill website for you to see this year’s opening night and some activities over the weekend.
I had work in this year’s show again. Four little watercolour and ink jersey cows, framed beautifully in raw oak. I've included them here so you can have a look. (these are available on my website as prints for sale). And, best of all I had sales. Yay! This is the 3rd year running for me.
It was very thrilling to be part of, and the opening night crowd really made the art show come alive. Along with a humming weekend of guests, visitors, activities and music – art sales were made to make the school, the artists and the guests very happy.
Thank you to Art Red Hill once again for hosting an amazing event. I can’t wait for next year’s show.
